"After the training session, I learned how to protect myself and create a safety plan when domestic violence threatens me and my children."
"I want to share the knowledge from this training session with many women in my village, as my home, where I run a small grocery store, is a place where they often gather to chat."
"This is the first time I've heard of the safety plan and safety kit concepts to protect myself and my children from domestic violence."
These are just three of the many sharings from participants after the training session on domestic violence prevention, which took place on August 27-28 in Ang Nua commune (Muong Ang, Dien Bien). The training was organized by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) in collaboration with the Fund for Community Development (FCD), the Women's Union, and the local government of Ang Nua commune. The training is part of the "No voice - No equal future” project, sponsored by TH Group and VSF's "Spreading True Happiness" program.
The trainer for the session was Mr. Vu Xuan Thai, Program Manager of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation. The training focused on raising awareness and equipping 33 ethnic minority women in Ang Nua commune with skills related to preventing domestic violence. The participants also included 15 women who had previously received interest-free livelihood loans through the Let’s Orange 2023 campaign. These women were introduced to concepts, causes, and forms of domestic violence, as well as discussing the consequences of this issue.
Notably, participants were also guided on how to create a safety plan, including early recognition of signs of violence, preparing a safety kit with essential items, and learning about local support services. They also engaged in role-playing scenarios to practice and apply the knowledge they had gained.
Let's look back at the meaningful and determined moments of these women on their journey to enhance their awareness and skills to protect themselves and their families through the photo album above!

The "No voice - No equal future” project has been implemented by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation ( VSF) since 2022, with the goal of eliminating gender stereotypes, gender roles, and other prominent gender issues. The project also aims to develop a core group that promotes gender equality and children's rights in the local community, thereby fostering gender equality within the community. Additionally, the project supports improving livelihoods for ethnic minority women in difficult circumstances through interest-free loan programs, training in farming methods, etc., to help elevate the voice and status of women in the family and community.
