There are countless colors with many different shades, and each carries its own meaning.

So do you know why orange was “chosen” by the United Nations as the color for a global campaign? Let Professor Orange reveal the answer!

Orange is the color of choice because:

- Orange is a highly visible color that easily captures public attention.

- Orange serves as a warning color, highlighting the serious dangers of violence against women and children.

- Orange is a bright, energetic color that symbolizes hope and inspires optimism for those who have experienced violence.

Since 2008, the United Nations Secretary-General has launched the UNiTE Campaign, a 16-day global initiative held annually from November 25 to December 10, aiming to:
i) Raise awareness of violence against women and girls;
ii) Renew advocacy efforts for policy action;
iii) Share knowledge and creativity in ending violence against women and girls.

Starting in 2016, the Government of Viet Nam responded to the UNiTE Campaign by implementing the “Action month for gender equality and the prevention and response to gender-based violence”, taking place from November 15 to December 15 each year. Since then, Let’s orange campaign has received strong support from numerous organizations and businesses nationwide, including TH Group, BAC A BANK, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), and the TH School System.

So whenever you see the color orange somewhere, remember that it is not just a color, but also a reminder of love, solidarity, and action for gender equality and the safety of women and girls.
