Inaugurating My Phu school site (Thua Thien Hue Province)

Particularly, the school site has been renovated and upgraded components damaged in historic flood in Central Vietnam in 2020, including: repairing main roof and porch ceiling; installing extra ceiling made of lightweight material; installing awnings; repainting interior and exterior walls; replacing glass and repainting doors; replacing the electric system; raising concrete ground, creating garden miniatures and shade for the playground.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huyen - The Commune Chairman said: “Phong Chuong Primary School has a new beautiful school site. On behalf of the local government, we would like to thank the sponsor - VSF and the resource mobilization and coordination unit - Tien Phong newspaper, who always accompanied, monitored and commented in order to get the school completed on time.”

This is one of the activities in the program “Overcoming floods with the Central Region - A mission from the heart” initiated by VSF after the historic floods in Central Region in 2020. Previously, individuals, businesses and staff of Bac A Bank & TH Group contributed funds to implement this program, including a $1,000 grant of Essential Flavors Vietnam.

With this complete renovation, nearly 40 students in My Phu school site will study in a solid school, which contributes to improving the quality of teaching and studying of the teachers and students here.

From the end of 2020 until now, VSF has actively implemented activities to reconstruct people's lives after floods in the program “Overcoming floods with the Central Region - A mission from the heart”, including:

- Giving ten 2-ton lifeboats to the People's Committee of Ba Don town and the People's Committee of Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province.
- Giving 541 gift sets, each worth 700,000 VND to primary school students in  the flood-prone area of Hai Hung commune, ​​Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province
- Supporting 49 households that severely affected by floods
- Donating 26 sets of 5-point anchors for the project "Flood Proof Houses" to support pontoon houses for people in Quang Binh province
- Coordinating with Tien Phong Newspaper to survey and restore My Phu school site of Phong Chuong Primary School, Phong Chuong commune (Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province and 02 clinics in Ha Tinh province)
