These were the sharings of Mr. Sung A Lu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Chai Commune, at the inauguration ceremony of the Hang Gang - For Vietnamese Stature Bridge on May 17, 2026. The ceremony was organized in coordination with For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), Tien Phong Newspaper, Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union, and the local government.

According to him, Lao Chai is a mountainous locality still facing many difficulties, with a fragmented terrain, and the livelihoods of the people depend mainly on agricultural production. In the Hang Gang area, transportation during the flood season is a major concern for the local authorities, as people can only transport goods and students have to travel to school via makeshift, dangerous paths, especially when the streams rise.
Therefore, the construction of the Hang Gang - For Vietnamese Stature Bridge not only fulfills the long-held aspirations of the people but also brings hope for a better future for the highland community. Even more special is that the project was created through the joint efforts of many partners, becoming a "bridge of trust" and extending solidarity within the community. From now on, the people of Hang Gang can work and produce with peace of mind, and the journey to school for the students will be safer.
On behalf of the local government and people, Mr. Sung A Lu expressed his gratitude to VSF, Tien Phong Newspaper, the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union, and other organizations for their support and financial assistance in the bridge construction. He also pledged to cooperate in managing and promoting the effective use of the bridge to maximize its long-term value, contributing to the well-being of the people and the socio-economic development of Hang Gang village.
